Bristol, Va./Tenn. (July 30, 2019) – WBCM Radio Bristol’s Farm and Fun Time presented by the Birthplace of Country Music, brings back appointment programming with Farm and Fun Time, a throwback to the golden era of radio when families crowded around their consoles to enjoy live variety shows filled with music and laughter. On Thursday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. EST, Farm and Fun Time welcomes music guests The Lonesome River Band and Irene Kelley.

Since its formation over 37 years ago, the award-winning Lonesome River Band is one of the most respected and influential names in bluegrass music. Whether performing on the Grand Ole Opry or headlining major concert events and festivals, the band’s trademark sound is beloved by fans worldwide.

For more than three decades, Irene Kelley has been a recording artist and songwriter on Nashville’s Music Row, where she penned music for artists including Alan Jackson, Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood, and Ricky Skaggs. Kelley has assumed her place among a long line of great American country songwriters while remaining true to her bluegrass and country roots.

Hosted by Kris Truelsen and his house band Bill & the Belles, Farm and Fun Time pays homage to the classic WCYB Radio program that broadcast from Bristol in the 1940s and 1950s and that helped launch the careers of Curly King, The Stanley Brothers, and Jim & Jesse McReynolds. Radio Bristol continues the tradition of the program by offering great music and heartwarming humor to its audience.
