The Booher Family performed at CD signing at Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Museum

On Saturday, May 10, local bluegrass band The Booher Family were at the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance museum and gift shop at 12:00 noon to play and hold a CD signing for their new release, In the Mountains.

The Booher Family consists of Gary and Lora Booher, accompanied by their two sons, Joseph and Jamey. The Booher Family blends the finest contemporary, traditional, and gospel bluegrass, while adding their own original songs and style. Smooth harmonies, great original material, and tight instrumentation in their performances are a few of the hallmarks of this band from Johnson City, Tennessee. Though together as a band for a short time, the Booher Family has quickly gained attention and notoriety with their family style of music and humor, performing over one hundred appearances in 2002.

Their new CD, In the Mountains, features eleven songs, with two gospel bluegrass songs and six original tunes written by Gary Booher. In addition to Joseph Booher on mandolin and vocals, Jamey Booher on Bass, Lora Booher on guitar and vocals, and Gary Booher on Banjo, guitar, and vocals, they were joined on the recording project by special guests Robby Spencer on old-time banjo, Terry Barnes on fiddle, and Matt Ledbetter on dobro.
