Whatever you call it, all of these styles of music represent the traditional Southern Appalachian music the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance is working to preserve.

Many radio stations throughout the Mountain Empire carry daily, weekly, and special programs that feature our musical traditions. Although reception can vary, most of these stations can be heard not only in the Tri-Cities area but throughout the hills and valleys of Southwestern Virginia, Northeast Tennessee, Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, and Western North Carolina.

Thanks to the technology of the Internet, many radio programs are available to not only local listeners, but to anyone throughout the world, both live and on demand.

Many of these stations require either Real Player or Windows Media Player to be downloaded and installed on your computer to listen.
