Buck Trent, known as "Mr. Banjo," is the inventor of the electric banjo and is one of Country music’s premier banjo players and is adept on most string instruments.

He could play steel guitar by age 7 and made his radio debut at age 10. When he became one of Porter Wagoner’s Wagonmasters in 1962 his career began to move. Pushed by Porter to come up with a new sound on the banjo, he developed the electric banjo.

Buck left Porter in 1973 and joined Roy Clark, who helped him become an entertainer and humorist, and for seven years he opened for Roy. He and Roy won the CMA "Instrumental Group of the Year" in 1975 and 1976, and while with Roy was a featured musician on the TV series Hee Haw.

After leaving Roy, Buck has been in demand as a solo performer, appearing all over the world and on numerous TV shows including the Tonight Show and the Mike Douglas Show. Over the years he has recorded on various labels and for some time was the star of Music Village USA in Nashville, but has since gravitated toward Branson, Missouri.
