Limited tickets are still available for Garrison Keillor’s one-man show fundraising event to benefit Barter Theatre’s Annual Fund on Barter’s historic stage November 1, 2006. Last minute additions to Barter Theatre’s Annual Fund event “An Evening with Garrison Keillor” will make the night even more exciting.
“This event just keeps on getting better and better, and Bank of America Private Bank is honored to be a sponsor,” Chris Walters, Vice-President/Investments, said when it was announced that Robin and Linda Williams will be joining Mr. Keillor for his performance. “Then we found out that this event will be taped as part of a PBS documentary about Garrison Keillor,” Walters added.
Limited tickets are still available for the night of entertainment featuring writer and humorist Garrison Keillor, known for his nationally broadcast radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion," for a special one-night only performance at Historic Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, November 1, 2006 at 7 p.m. Barter’s own Eugene Wolf, Nicholas Piper and Gill Braswell will begin the evening with a short bluegrass performance. “This evening has it all – great food, music by this region’s best, entertainment by the enigmatic Garrison Keillor and of course good friends. The Annual Fund Committee is so pleased to have been a part of making this happen. Join us for a memorable evening,” Stephen Morris, Annual Fund Committee member, said.
Joining Keillor will be musical favorites Robin and Linda Williams, the Virginia-based duo known for their rich harmonies and original songwriting. This summer, Keillor and The Williams were featured in a movie adaptation of “A Prairie Home Companion” also featuring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, Kevin Kline, Lily Tomlin and John C. Reilly.
The evening will be included as part of a PBS documentary on Keillor filmed by Peter Rosen Productions. Previously, Rosen has produced documentaries for PBS, ABC and CBS.
Some tickets at all levels are still available for this special evening.
